Clarksville Academy Reviews

By a Former Student on

Clarksville Academy is a school that is declining. In agreement with the "Looking for Integrity" review, Key Drew is largely responsible. As the review said, she embodies a false image and self serving tone. She hires substandard teachers and continues to employ teachers, like Tracy Burkhart, that fail to teach the children. These two women, along with a  few others (especially in the office), are what give CA its cliquey feel. The children see this behavior modeled by these select "educators" and then, of course, internalize it and use it in their own social interactions. These cliquey teachers also show blatant favoritism of some children. For CA to begin improving again, a new administration needs to be put in place and high quality teachers need to be sought out. CA, in the past few years, has lost its quality teachers like Mrs. Winters, Coach Smith, Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Petty, and Mrs. White. These smart, caring, driven, and thoughtful people were replaced with "educators" who do the bare minium and do not push or inspire their students. It is a great loss, I hope CA will soon return to the high quality school it once was.

If you desire overpriced tuition, small town mentality, rampant elitism, social bullying, and mediocrity in education; this is the place for you.  Social bullying is prevalent. Students openly ridicule other students based on social and economic status. Teachers talk about such issues as students' personal lives (like who is sleeping with whom) IN the classroom. {What a COLOSSAL lapse of professionalism!}. If the integrity of this school is to be salvaged, dismissal of the headmistress (who embodies the false image and self-serving tone) should be the first order of business, followed by scrutiny of all staff and practices.

Unquestionably the finest private school in Clarksville, period!  Teachers are of the highest calibre.  School is run by caring professionals.   This IS the Best School for your children's development and education.  My Grandson attends this school of excellence and loves it!  Public school's in the area unfortunately are well below par and cannot compete with the quality scholastics and advanced professional teachers at Clarksville Academy.
