Tifani Bartlett: I remember this school! I'm 13 years old and I went to Hixson Elementary School for Kindergarten through 3rd Grade. I remember all my teachers. Kindergarten-Mrs./Ms. Jones, 1st Grade-Mrs./Ms. Gibbons/Gibson(can't remember which), 2nd Grade-Mrs. Wilson(the frog-loving teacher), and 3rd Grade-Mrs. Skahan. Mrs. Skahan was my favorite teacher. I loved that school so much!

Deshawn M.: I just moved back to Chattanooga after living in Ohio for 12 years. I now have four children and I knew that relocating would be hard but was not ready for how they reacted. The school they attended in Ohio was a great school and they loved it there, after we moved to Chattanooga and they started Hixson Elementary I saw my children who once loved going to school asking to skip because they hated it. It became a daily issue that a kid from school was rude, or aggesive or used foul language towards them. There seems to be alot of behaviors allowed at this school that when I was in school would have cause you to be suspended. My 10 year old son had a boy slap him in the face with no discipline for the boy who hit him. The teacher gave my son a pep talk about how to be the bigger person and walk away and not fight back. Well because there is no open enrollment allowed here in Hamilton Co. my children will have to attend this school until we can move. I know that this year I will not expect my children to handle these bullies on their own I will be in the office of Hixson Elementary everyday until this issue has stopped!!
