Thackston School Reviews
Years ago this may have been a good school, but not now.
The buildings, playground and fire escapes are dangerous. The neighborhood is also unsafe and parking is nearly impossible. It is more like a broken down daycare center than a school that cares about education and learning. Stay away!
in over their heads
This school has some nice families and teachers, but they will promise you anything to get tuition. It is very, very small and they want a certain "kind" of family and child. It's a lot like public school but it costs money. Not a good place for our two and we changed schools.
I totally disagree with the comment about diversity! There are kids of different races, religions, and cultural backgrounds. The Spanish teacher is great, and brings a lot of guests from different countries. This is a very caring school with outstanding teachers who see the kids as individuals. Small is beautiful!
This school is not culturally diversed. Caters only to "white america".
I attended Pre-K through 5th at Thackston. My fondest childhood memories were created in the walls of love, creativity, security and the highest levels of ecduaction that all of the staff and Princiapal Deborah Woffard provided. They go above and beyond and become family. I would just like to say thank you. I wouldn't be who I am today without them.
This school is one the best school in Knox county. It has an excellent academic program, excellent teachers, excellent extracurricular activities, the safety is great, there is no bullying at all, and if you were there 8 years like I was it turns into a home in a way.
