About the TCAP
What is it?
The Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which grades and subjects?
Students in grades 3 through 8 are assessed in reading/language arts, math, science and social studies, and in grades 5 and 8 in writing.
How is it scored?
Students receive a score of below proficient, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
