Argyle High School Reviews
Not at all what we were told
We were very mislead about Argyle Schools period. The High School is all about Sports, and not into Academics at all. It does not prepare students for College. Most of the kids I know who have graduated cannot make it in College, end up coming back home to a community college. The kids are out of control, no discipline what so ever. And no control on drugs. Kids come to school and are on drugs while at school. Very disappointed and cannot wait to move from this School District.
If you have money then that is a totally different ball game. Money speaks at this school, and that is wrong.
Awful if you have Middle school and High school children
First, the Middle school and High school are both in together. So my younger kids are exposed to things they normally would not see. We were mislead when we looked at this school,as we were told that the only thing the Middle and High school shared was the cafeteria, and at different times. Totally a LIE, they share hallways and basically the entire school. SO being exposed to fights, drugs, pregnant girls, among other things is not what I want my 13 year old daughter to see.
Plus, the Academics is awful. My children complain how the teachers DO NOT teach them. And it is frustrating to my children. Finally, their is NO discipline for misbehaved kids. A girl in my daughters class said she was going to kill the kids in the class. No punishment for a threat like this. Then my High school son was in the shower after Athletics, and kids took his clothes and hid them. NO punishment was given. MY son was and is continued being bullied on a daily basis.
Terrible and emotional scarring.
I went to this district for seven years and I am glad to finally be free from it. The art programs are seriously underfunded and the sports programs are given more attention than academics. Most of the teachers are friendly and supportive but many of the students are bullies. Having money makes you popular and not having money makes you the target at this school. This school has emotional scarred many students.
What a delight. A high school with high academic and moral standards. The staff is excellent, helpful and easy to reach.
