A.L: well i am currently a student at Austin can academy.. my toughs about it is that is a good school that give kids second chance to change there life's. the grate teachers they have makes it a lot easier for us to wake up and go to the classes and the awesome principle as well . i was a drop out from my other school they told me about Austin can and went and try it out and with in a year i was ready to graduate . i really thank Austin can for helping me ... i would have never done it with out them ... thank you ...

Austin Can Academy Charter School
im a student at austin can and its very easy and for the teens that have kids, you will get faster and moved on into life with more open options, i am 15 years old, and im a 9th grdr here at austin can. most students come here because they have kids, and they cant get into other schools, because of bad behavior and kids of the stiudents and drugs and bad influences, and the rukes are strickt and tight, and thats what makes the school good.

What is it?
The TAKS is an annual test used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in Grades 3 through 9 in reading, in Grades 4 and 7 in writing, and in Grades 10 and 11 in English language arts. Math skills are assessed in Grades 3 through 11, and students are assessed in Grades 5, 8, 10, and 11 in science, and in Grades 8, 10, and 11 in social studies.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of two ratings: met standard or commended performance. The goal is for all students to meet the state standard. Students must pass the TAKS tests in grades 3, 5, and 8 in order to be promoted to the next grade, and in grade 11 in order to graduate from high school.
