Virginia Mosis: I enrolled our english speaking Kindergartener last year in the Dual Language Program at Curington. We had a fabulous experience with a top notch teacher that received Teacher of the Year for all of the Boerne campuses, including highschool and middle schools. This was our first experience with the public schools. Our older son attended top rated private schools and is now in college. We could not be happier with the education we have recieved and teachers that my child has encountered.

Curington Elementary School
Very poor and ineffective administrative leadership team. The leadership team seems disconnected from the teachers and as a result, make very poor decisions. As a result, there seems to be a lot of turmoil and turnover at the school.
The school has lost some wonderful teachers due to problems with administrative leadership. Boerne has some wonderful elementary schools - unfortunately Curington is not one of them.

What is it?
The TAKS is an annual test used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in Grades 3 through 9 in reading, in Grades 4 and 7 in writing, and in Grades 10 and 11 in English language arts. Math skills are assessed in Grades 3 through 11, and students are assessed in Grades 5, 8, 10, and 11 in science, and in Grades 8, 10, and 11 in social studies.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of two ratings: met standard or commended performance. The goal is for all students to meet the state standard. Students must pass the TAKS tests in grades 3, 5, and 8 in order to be promoted to the next grade, and in grade 11 in order to graduate from high school.
