About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Academy of Dallas Reviews
The school has made some progress my son started out in Disd and was failing very bad I switched him to Academy of Dallas and he has improved dramatically he Task Scores were very high I heard that this school has had some bad reviews but so far I have nothing bad to say. If you are considering this school it is up and coming
Well this was both my kids first year at the Oak Park campus and overall its been a positive experiece. My children were struggling with making new friends and the teachers were there to help them make some new best friends and make them feel welcome. My daughter was struggling with reading during the beginning of the year and her teacher was right there to give her one on one attention and instruct me on how to help her at home as well. They were always on top of any problem that arose and kept me informed of my children's behavior in and out the classroom so when it came time for parent conference we really had nothing to discuss because I am always informed of their status. The school has excellent after school programs for both student and parent and get them involved in research projects geared toward their level and have always been their to encourage the students on their efforts. One downside is the spanish class they offer and it seems they only watch movies in there and my children have never learned spanish. My kids are there to learn not watch movies and I believe that class is a waste of good learning time. :( But all in all these teachers and staff we were lucky to have were good to my babies and I am soo happy to have had a positive year with the Oak Park campus.
