About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Radiance Academy of Learning (Del Rio) Reviews
This school is aimed at the lowest common denomonator. They don't have college educated teachers. 3 teachers were "let go" because the school could no longer afford to pay them. My child came home from school last month and said she wanted tutoring in math because in the 6th grade the permanent substitute teacher is teaching division. My child wants to be able to pass the STAAR test and she isn't receiving adequate instruction. Classroom management is non-existent. Teachers yell in student's faces to make them be quiet.
My daughter attended this school for two years and hardly did anything. The teachers do whatever the please and they don't have order. They aren't a serious school and don't teach correctly. This school might as well be a day care.
My child has beeen attending this school since it opened and he is very happy here. He gets all the one-on-one help that he needs and the teachers are always available when and if he needs help. The principal, assist. principal, sp.ed teacher, and the rest of the staff is wonderful. My child is getting the education that he deserves and I have peace of mind that he is learning what he is being taught.
