MY SON GOES TO HSE, EDUCATION WISE I DO BELIEVE THE SCHOOL IS WORTH IT,BUT I DO HAVE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE FRONT DESK PEOPLE.ESPECIALLY ONE PERSON THERE IN PARTICULAR,AND YES I CAN HARDLY UNDERSTAND SOME OF THE TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS ,OTHER THAN THAT I DO LIKE THIS SCHOOL ,HE HAD A CHANCE TO GO TO AN HISD SCHOOL AND I REFUSED,THE SCHOOL IS A BIT SMALLER THAN A REGULAR MIDDLE SSCHOOL AND I LIKE THAT.I FEEL HE WILL RECEIVE A GOOD EDUCATION HERE AT HSE AND I FEEL SAFE THAT HE IS THERE.

I was an employee of a school district here in Houston. As I worked there, I saw things that repulsed me in the education industry. I remember when I was in school, if I did not turn in an assignment, I received a 0. Cy-Fair schools on the other hand strongly advises the teachers to give the child a second, third, fourth, chance to turn in the work for a grade of 70.  Why? I honestly do not know. My daughter started 6th grade in a cy-fair school. On her progress reports, her grades were 40's, 50's, really really low. Somehow in the three weeks from progress report to report card, she had brought those grades up from a 50 to a 90. I was furious with her, her school, and the superintendant of the whole school system. I put her in Harmony Science academy for the start of her 7th grade year. The first two grading periods, she failed some of her classes, because she did not turn in her work on time, and not one teacher came to her and begged her to turn in something. Yes, that school is disorganized in the administration area. Yes there food not real tasty and they do not serve pork. Yes My daughter wants to go back to cy-fair schools. But when you ask her where she gets a the better education, hands down, it is Harmony.

dont ever put your child in HSE. Trust me im a student their its the most unorganized school and ...you can barely understand the [teachers] when they speak to you and when they teach. i hate it their so much, the food is very nasty and the charge you a very high price for it. i hope you dont enroll your child here, save them from there misery that will happen if they go there.

If you want your child to get a subpar education then send them to HArmony. My daughter has been at Harmony since the beginning of January 09 and it compares nothing to the Public School in the Cy-Fair district that she came from. My daughter is an Honor Roll student, gifted and talented 6th grader. She did outstanding in Cy-Fair, but I was persuaded to transfer her, thinking she would be challenged even more. She rarely recevied homework, or shall I say she did it in class(not challenging), if you have an emergency, dont bother calling the school because you rarely can get through and they dont return calls, the teachers are disconnected from parents, the Dean of Academics, Principal and teachers are never available and it doesnt seem to bother them. I wouldnt feed their lunch to pigs. The library has a small # of books.Teachers are absent alot. There is no structure at all. I am a very involved parent and my childs education means alot to me, so this is first hand information. She will be returning to Cy-Fair in the fall.

Unorganized, understaffed. Great ideas without the means to be effective to produce good, holistic results. Have found inaccurate answers on mathmatic study guides. Offers Turkish language classes; very culturally diverse school.
