Kerr High School is a advanced learning school. The way the teachers teach is kind of college based so it can be hard to adjust to it. I think that if you want to go to Kerr you need to be prepared to work 100 times harder. ( note: this is not an exargeration!) so if you as a student or your kid is failing some classes after being A B students it's normal.
I am a parent of a 10th grader at Kerr. I am concerned about the transition from middle school to high school. My daughter was an honor roll student when she left 8th grade. She has been struggling to catch up since she enrolled at Kerr. She is so upset about it as well as I . My daughter has had tutoring and counseling,I have spoken to the principle; I believe that there needs to be better systems in place to follow the newly enrolled students entering the 9th grade. There are a lot of freedoms they are not use to. I believe my daughter still needs some lecture. I cannot stand to see my daughter struggle anymore, her grades have suffered and she is not happy right now. I will transfer her to another school very soon. Please do not take this lightly, there may be other students experiencing the same things.
