About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. See Westchester Academy for International Studies's test results to learn more about school performance.

Westchester Academy for International Studies Reviews
Westchester Academy is an International Baccalaureate School. In 2011, they were recongnized as a National Blue Ribbon School. WAIS is a public charter school in Spring Branch ISD. The campus houses middle and high school. Only 120 students per grade level are accepted into WAIS, which makes for smaller classes. The school concentrates on preparing students for college, even at the middle school level. My daughter has been a student at WAIS, so I know a lot of the students there. They all love the school and realize what an advantage the school is giving them.
