Houston Elementary School Reviews
The school is located near a public park with tennis/volleyball courts, soccer/baseball fields, a swimming pool and a police station a few steps from the school. It is well maintained physically as well as administratively; it consists of very good teachers. Besides their regular classes, children get involved in activities that simulate real adult-life situations like learning about the operations of the HEB, Target and Walmart stores, and Houstonville in which they have a city council. The staff is friendly although the school's rules can be sometimes too unfair. Parents are not allowed to take students inside their classroom, not even the Pre-k kids, nor to eat lunch with them, except on Fridays. I feel they cut the relationship between student-teacher-and parent. This school does not get the same attention as the other elementary schools when it comes to participating in the Channel 17 which is a channel that shows the different activities that children perform in every school throughout the school year. Apart from this, it is a very good school.
