Organization, yes they lack, my 5 year old had kepted on telling his homeroom teacher that his classmates was digging in his cubby and his back pack. She told his to go and sit back down on his carpet. Now they tell the kids go and get their stuff but they don't make sure that the kids grab what is theirs, well at least at that school. I told the teacher what my son said but i felt that it was being ignored. His name was on his stuff and everything, she said that she will talk to my son about taking care of his things. He was taking care of his things she told him to go back to his carpet like she did not care what he had to say. Now his things are gone, now I am asking my self what else are they not paying attention to.
Although this school might have potential, which i beg to differ, they are not utilizing it!! My main concern, as an upcoming school parent, is that the staff at best lacks orginization. I have heard from parents in my neighiborhood the school is not responsible for children once the last bell rings for school to be let out. I've heard from more than one parent their child has either walked off campus when they are suppose to be a bus rider etc without any of the staff being held responsible, keep in mind this parents child was in Pre-K. When I asked the parent what the school staff said her response was that they told her once the bell rings they are not responsible for making sure the child/children go where they are suppose to. WOW!!!! Another parent told me she's had problems with more than one staff member saying they are going to do something and then don't which leaves the parent in a bind due to bad orginization skills....Its awful as a parent to know that your child is either wondering around some busy street between home and school or stuck at school because the staff was irresponsible to make sure children go where they are suppose to go. What happened to making sure our children are kept safe? When you drop your child off at school isnt that suppose to give you some relief that your child is safe and well taken care of? As a new parent of 3 years I WILL NOT be letting my Pre-K child attend this school!!! I want to know that my child will make it home safe and the correct way that I as a parent chooses......just my opinion!
This school has a lot of potential with a dual-language (Spanish) program for grades K-5. However, they seem to need more staff. My son finished 1st grade with 21 other kids in his class. It also has a lot of under-privileged kids as well.
