Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts is located in Salt Lake City, UT and is in Salt Lake School For The Performing Arts School District. It is a magnet school that serves 184 students in grades 9-12.
Magnet schools are public schools that offer a specialized curriculum or educational philosophy, often with a specific focus or theme. Magnet schools promote student diversity because they are open to students outside the normal school district boundaries and often attract high caliber students through competitive programs.
Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts made AYP in 2009. Under No Child Left Behind, a school makes Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) if it achieves the minimum levels of improvement determined by the state of Utah in terms of student performance and other accountability measures. See Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts's test results to learn more about school performance.
Angela Neilson: This school is poorly organized from the adminstration to the use of the Power School software.
The teachers are rarely available after or before school and do not respond to phone or email requests. Any attempts to resolve problems for a student take quite a long time to resolve, if they ever get resolved.
I simply would not recommend this school for any student. The quality of education around performing is poor and a student would be much better educated through community opportunities.
