Tilley Time Child Care II Reviews
I enrolled my 3-month-old daughter at Tilley Time the middle of July. I’m a nurse, so I work 3 12 hour shifts a week and an occasional 8 hour shift. My daughters first two days at Tilley Time, I called the center two times per shift and asked how she was doing. They went and checked on her and told me what she was doing. For the next week, I called once per day to check on her. 12.5 hours is a long time for any age kid to be at daycare, let alone a 3 month old. During her second week there, I called on my lunch break and was informed that I was no longer allowed to call and check on my baby. The reason I was given was that the facility only has two phone lines and not enough staff to check on the kids when parents called. When I picked my baby up that day, I spoke with the night manager and asked if this was a policy they would be willing to bend considering my baby’s age and circumstance. I was told no. I then gave them my two weeks notice that I was pulling my daughter.
The next day my daughter was in daycare, I called again on my lunch break to check on her. The same woman (Samantha), who told me I was no longer allowed to call and check in, answered. I told her who I was and asked how my daughter was doing. Samantha was snippy and told me to hold on. After over ten minutes of being on hold, I hung up and called back. Samantha answered the phone again. This time, she was rude. She told me she was busy and put me on hold again. The owner Debbie got on the phone and told me how my daughter was. When I got to the facility to pick up my daughter, there was a noted taped to her box. The note stated that my daughter was no longer allowed back because of my “repeated” phone calls every day. Their justification for this, even though we had a contract for almost two more weeks, was by saying I didn’t have to pay for that last day of service. Because of their actions, I would have ended up missing several days of work.
The lack of professionalism at this facility is overwhelming. I wasn’t even given the courtesy of a phone call telling me to make other arrangements. If I hadn’t already registered my daughter someplace else, I would have been left in a total bind. As it turned out, Tilley Time did me a huge favor. My babys’ new daycare is amazing! When I told them what Tilley Time did, they let me start her the next day and they encouraged me to call as much as I want. They were also completely disgusted (along with EVERY other person I’ve told) that I was told not to call and check on my 3-month-old baby at a daycare facility.
I would not recommend this facility to anyone. They have WAY more kids then they can handle. The majority of the kids there have parents who are really young, really immature and/or really irresponsible. As a result, the facility expects all parents to act like parents who really don’t care about their kids and are rude when we act like normal, caring parents.
Find a different daycare. Your children deserve better.
This is a fantastic place for children! I am writing for the first time ever on a web site such as this. I am only writing because of a recent Parent Teacher Conference where the subject of these types of sites came up. A Parent in the group meeting had found a site with a negative posting and the contents were read at the meeting. We were all outraged at the lies that can be posted and that businesses as wonderful as this one that cannot defend themselves. The internet can be a wonderful thing. An exchange of information has never been so easy. We can keep in touch with family and friends from far away. we have learning at our finger tips.....However....There are also scammers who have slolen Identity, money and other items of unsuspecting wonderful, trusting, innocent people. It has never been so easy to be greedy, obscene, hateful, crooked and down right nasty! Files were produced of the persons who posted mean, incorrect information on different sites and disscussed in detail. An ADD - ADHD mom was mad that her child had her services susupended after her child hurt two children and sent a staff person to the hospital....This is the kind of Center I want to be at.....The Center could have choose to hang on to the tutition and kept the child enrolled and ignored the saftey of other students and staff....but they did not. They immediately choose the saftety of staff and children and discontinued services and suggested different Agencies that might provide the Parents and Child with professionl help. I have done my research the correct way. I have volunteered for over 120 hours in the Center. I have five children in the Center so that exposes me to alot of areas. The Center has a Secured Coded Entry Door, has a fantastic camera surveillence system, they use a fingerprint system to clock the children in and out. They have a Proffessionally designed Preschool Program and always get 100% Inspections. I checked with Child Care Licensing!!! In fact their last unannounced Inspection was in December 2010, they got another perfect 100% and one of the Inspectors was a big wig at Licensing making the rounds at centers to see that the Licensors are doing their job correctly. Donna Thomas gave the Center numerous compliments on its operations. Please check with Child Care Licensing, Parent who are sent to collections or services terminated for cause can try to unfairly harm a wonderful place such as this.
