Churchville Elementary School Reviews
I appreciate a school run by a principal who has been in the trenches. As a parent, I've seen her sitting on the floor among the kids during movie nights. I've witnessed how she treats the students who come to her, both on an emotional level and the academic/authoritative level.
Walking into that school, someone takes note and addresses you before you get too far - but not in a way that makes you feel they are hiding anything.
If a child has trouble with affording school supplies, there's a room with extra donations to help with those expenses. Parents are informed how to help with school supplies and at Christmas, anonymously, to provide a child with a present if another family is struggling.
This school's parent/teacher committee seems to bring out the involvement of parents more than its counterparts in the county. When there is a need, someone will step up. Sometimes it's harder to get volunteers than other times, but eventually a parent steps up and doesn't let the students down.
This school has more student focused/led activities than most, providing a sense of community beyond the academics.
