Dogwood Elementary School Reviews
All of the staff at this school are very loving and supportive. Robyn Cochran, the principal, is AMAZING at what she does and the team she has built at the school. We are sad to see her leave, but know that the positive influence she has had will last at this school for years to come.
All of the teachers at Dogwood are so loving and dedicated to the children. Never have we seen such a supportive, caring environment. They really are trying to do the best for your kid. We have regularly seen teachers go above and beyond to help the kids succeed and have a positive elementary school experience. You even watch the kids enjoy going to school every day and say hello to the principal and teachers!!
I know the test scores aren't the best, but they are getting better due to community outreach and getting parents more involved in supporting the education received at the school. Because they are trying to shard to increase scores, there are many opportunities available for tutoring and the school is VERY supportive of ESL or non-English speaking families. This shouldn't persuade you to overlook this school - everything about this elementary school is what is going right with public education.
Dogwood is an outstanding school. Principal and staff are very involved in a positive manner with kids. I found them all working as a real collaborative team toward one goal: ”how can we server our students better?” Don’t take my word for it; set up a meeting and judge for yourself.
Outstanding school. Our Teacher's son is wonderful! (4th grade) Principal and staff very involved in a positive manner with kids, I found them all working as a real collaborative team toward one goal…..”how can we server our students better..” Don’t take my word for it…set up a meeting with the principal and/or teacher and judge for yourself.
I was a little nervous at first but I did a lot of research on them and spent time at the school getting to know the teachers, principle and other parents. Now I think this school is fantastic!!! I've never seen such a hardworking staff. They keep trying every year to get better and better and to keep challenging ALL of the kids. The class room size is small, and they make sure to really know what each child knows and how to keep them interested and wanting to learn. My original plan was to have my daughter go to kindergarten there and then in 1st grade move her to a different school but now I really don't know if that's what's best for her anymore. I love Dogwood and their staff!
