Review Lakota Middle School
Recent Reviews
As far as FW district concerns, I do not approve of the system and requirements on passing middle school. I did not pass all sections of the math DCA and therefore I was nearly held back, despite the fact that I maintined passing grades in all classes. I now attend Thomas Jefferson as a freshman, and although I have only been at this school for a few days, I am enjoying my experience so far. My teachers seem to be much nicer than they were at Lakota and I don't sense any lack of respect from them. Although I think individuality and creativity in students is somewhat repressed in the Federal Way Public School District compared to the school districts surrounding it, I have learned to adapt to their school enviorment and am making my best attempts to learn as much as possible.
So my advice is that if your student is a great test-taker and/or a great leader, and they can tolerate an occasional hostile staff member, then this school is for them. But if they are a follower and/or tend to struggle with academics more, then I would recommend another school.
