Kent-Meridian High School Reviews

As a freshman I can defintally feel the negativity and outrageous behavior that this "school" displays.Dispite me being an athlete and honors student I can defiantly see how broken this school is. A group called the "Juggalos" are prevelant along with other gang members making each day a tinking time bomb. No matter how many activities that the ASB creates each year no body seems to care. ALOT of students are blind of how bad KM is due to the fact that people are in their own cliques and pretending that KM life is good. Teachers on the other hand is a mixed bag. There are really good teaches but a lot of bad ones making the teaching system at KM pretty mediocore.Yes the school is very diverse with different ethinc groups which is a good thing BUT ELL students are very unfortunate to study under the same roof of potential convicts and murderers. If your child is intelligent he or she ran out of luck because they WILL be put in class of degenerates. Save your self the pain and stress of sending your child here instead put them in Kentridge, Kentlake,or Kentwood.

most diverse and over coming, this is the best school ever...

I attended this school my Freshman year in high school.

As an honor student, I definately feel as if I didn't experience the full negativity and pessimism of this decrepit and violent school.  After I transfered to Kentridge my 10th grade year, I could definately tell that Kent-Meridian was also lacking in the instruction department.  The quality of the teachers and even of most of the honor students is just horrendous.

DO NOT send your child here!  Most of the school is quite frankly trailer trash and would not hesitate to vandalize their own school.  Not only this, but the school's security is terrible too.  If your child is even somewhat gifted or intelligent, that child will be picked on due to the prevalence of gangs in this area.

There's a reason why this school is considered the worst in the entire districit; if you do send your child there, you will instantly know why.  (Unless of course you're trailer trash yourself, and in that instance you probably wouldn't care.) I'm sorry if I sounded blunt, but there is not way to leave this school unscathed.

In short, this school has terrible test scores, it has terrible and misbehaving students, it has terrible teachers, and it has a very horrible curriculum.  Again, I would strongly advise you DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!
