Burley Glenwood Elementary School Reviews
The school has some very wonderful teachers and supporting staff that interact with the children w/ease. But the principal doesn't work well w/parent teacher issues. Its his way or the highway and its been this way for years. His support of one teacher and her ways w/children shouldn't be allowed. I've seen parents and children have problem after problem with this one teacher and the principal supports only the teacher not the child or the parents. I've seen children scared to go to her class I've seen the grades dropping and attendance drop when its never been an issue in the years before. I have seen parents pulling students out of Burley because of this. We should be supporting our students and there parents and make the learning experience a Great Time for our young students not gear them up to drop out. If you've had problems with Burleys Teacher/Principal post Please maybe if enough parent voice there concern Columbini will listen its worth a try,
I am the stepmom of a 9 year old at Burley Glenwood. Our student has spent this school year transitioning from another state, with much success, due largely to the environment at this school. He has had immense support from his classroom teacher, school counselor and special programs teachers. Once introduced to the Peer Mediator program early in the school year, he was enthusiastic to meet his personal academic goals to become on of these specially selected students. I think it has helped his focus and drive to become a leader amongst his peers and a well-liked kid amongst his teachers. Way to go Burley Glenwood for putting together such an amazing staff of enthusiastic educators!
