Eastlake High School Reviews
This high school actually serves grades 10 - 12, not 9-12 as outlined in the description. It's not until the 2011-12 school year when 9th grade students will attend.
The lack of consistency across the board in the school's academics for 10th graders at the high school is very disappointing. Many of the classes are great, others provide the absolute minimum of expectations. Very little, if any, homework is given. High achievers are not rewarded. There are no honors options for students who want to work harder. AP classes are not available until 11th grade.
In my child's core English class, the focus is on watching movies or having the teacher read books aloud to them. They're nearing the end of the 2nd quarter and have only written one paper. I think this experience pretty much says it all.
