Both have very different talents and educational needs and both have been progressing with the help of their teachers, councilors and principles.
The staff has been very professional and caring. When my young freshman had difficulty adjusting to high school, the vice principle worked thoughtfully, professionally, creatively and diligently to help my student make adjustments to improve and grow. I couldn't be more thankful. Without them, an incident that could have been disastrous was turned into a positive. He is now getting B averages and is acing their computer graphics class. They recently were visited by the Art Institute of Seattle and he was inspired! He is now planning to do his personal best in all his classes so that he can get his BFA from Ai! What a turn around, from a lost and discourage teen to a college bound young man!
When my oldest student demonstrated academic talent, the staff, in conjunction with the school district, Wa State gov and the Educational Talent Search program coordinator who arranged for her to take the Acuplacer test got her qualified for running start in her junior year. I am so please to report she began attending Tacoma Community College at 16 years old, under the running start program this year. She’s getting A's all at the same time as satisfying her high school graduation requirements! Wow!
