Cascadia School Reviews
"You know what is great about my new school mommy? Well, EVERY school has at least one bully... except Cascadia! Everyone is really nice and works together." ~My 8 year old daughter
My daughter struggled in a traditional school setting because she was bored. She struggled with arguing at home because she craved independence. Cascadia has helped with both. The Montessori method allows for her to have flexibility in learning subjects, level, and time on task. This not only provides for just the right challenge, it also gives an outlet for her to be independent and feel responsible.
Probably my favorite thing is pick up time. When I ask her what she learned she can actually answer, and always does so with a smile on her face and excitement in her voice. Cascadia taught my daughter to love learning again.
Our family was looking for a alternative to the standard public school experience. Public school for us wasn't to our liking for tons of reasons and then we found Cascadia! In a nutshell our family is blown away by the overall atmosphere. Our son is learning and smiling everyday now, it's amazing what a difference it has made in our lives. The individual attention is wonderful, the child centered approach and teaching them one on one. The classrooms are beautiful and they really take the time to get to know each child and what they need. I wouldn't go anywhere else ever. It's amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. There is nothing that compares and we are so grateful.
Cascadia has been terrific for my child, allowing him to flourish without the pressure or stigmas that can occur in the regular school system. He has in his three years (grade 1-3) already had the opportunity to question the Mayor of Vancouver, meet professional geologists and puppeteers, planned outings for some of his classmates, written stories and conducted research. He is confident and very inquisitive and can give many adults a run for their money, but teacher not only appreciates it, but has used it to create new learning opportunities for others.
There is emphasis on community and all the kids are polite and able to resolve conflict in a fair manner. Best of all is that he loves to go to school! It is amazing what kids can do when you take the desks-in-a-row mentality away and let them learn. This school is amazing!
