Tip #7: Make a Back to School Budget
In these economic times, it's more important than ever to be frugal. Get your kid in on the action by setting a budget and asking him to prioritize. What's more important: new jeans or new backpack? It's never too early to teach money skills.
Your child may even enjoy working on a budget if he gets to have a say in what’s bought. Let him pick out his own clothes and supplies, so long as they all stay within his budget. He’ll sneak in some math practice while building an important life skill! It feels good to be responsible for your own purchases, and he will enjoy his new clothes and supplies all the more.
