2. Validate Her Emotions

Don't disregard or deny your child's emotions. Instead, validate her feelings, because what she feels is very real to her. Validating a feeling doesn't mean that you necessarily agree with your child; it means that you're communicating to her that you understand what she's feeling. ("I know that it's difficult to wait for a turn on the swing. But other kids want a turn too.")
