2. Nurture Name-Alphabetic Spelling
Five- to seven-year-olds understand that there's a link between letters and sounds. By the end of this stage, your child may start writing three-letter words that follow the consonant-vowel-consonant pattern (such as "cat" or "dog").
Help your child learn her ABCs by making an alphabet book together: Just staple together some paper, have her write down one letter of the alphabet on each page, and ask her to draw items that begin with that letter.
