It's common for kids to learn difficult vocabulary for topics that interest them. A dinosaur-loving five-year-old might know the words “Stegosaurus” and “Tyrannosaurus rex." Focus on what interests your child. If he likes insects, have a bug week where you learn about different creepy crawlies.
