Look for the pattern in the free toppings. The difference between 2 and 5 is 3. The difference between 5 and 7 is 2. So, the pattern is 3, 2, 3, 2. That means that the next number of free toppings (for 6 scoops) would be 12 + 3, or 15, and the next (7 scoops) would be 15 + 2, or 17.

 Weekly Rainfall.
 Go to the Week 3 mark. There were 12 inches of rainfall for Seattle—each mark is two from the last. Multiply 12 by 100, because the axes label tells you that each mark is centimeters × 100: 12 × 100 = 1,200. There were 8 inches of rainfall for Portland—each mark is two from the last. Multiply by 100: 8 × 100 = 800. Now, subtract to find the difference: 1,200 – 800 = 400 centimeters.
