Translate each statement from words into math symbols.

6. The product of 12 and 3 is at least 36.

1. 8 + 5. The key phrase more than means "addition."
2. 10 – 4. The key word difference means "subtraction."
3. 100 – 2 × 40. The phrase twice forty means "multiply 40 by 2." This value is subtracted from 100, so the order in the expression is the reverse of the order in the statement.
