Word Addition: Compound Words 1
This worksheet requires some addition, but it doesn't involve numbers. To make compound words, kids add two words together to make a new one, as in news + paper = newspaper. For each item on the worksheet, kids see a word that's the first part of the compound word. Using the picture as a clue, they find the second part of the word in the word box. Finally, they put the two parts together to write the compound word. Reading compound words is an important part of decoding and word recognition, knowledge your child can apply to achieve fluent oral and silent reading.
