Vowel Sounds: Long "I"
Ice cream and cake may go together at birthday parties, but not on this phonics worksheet. When the target sound is long "I," ice cream is in, but cake is out. This phonics worksheet presents kids with a set of pictures – some with the long "I" sound, and some without. Kids say the word for each picture, then circle the pictures that have the long "I" sound. Then they can write their own long "I" word on the lines provided at the bottom of the page. Learning vowel sounds is an important step on the path to reading.
