Vowel Sounds: Short and Long "O"

(based on 4 ratings)
Publisher: Education.com
Topics: First Grade, Sounding It Out

Oh, dear! These "O" vowel sounds need to be matched. This first grade worksheet gives kids a group of pictures to cut out. Each picture has an object with a short or long "O" sound. Kids say the name for each picture, then glue the short "O" pictures next to the log and the long "O" pictures next to the yo-yo. Learning to distinguish between short and long "O" sounds is an important phonics skill for emergent readers.
