In this activity, you will learn how to make homemade toothpaste from scratch using baking soda! This activity will help your kids understand the value of checking the ingredients in the foods they eat or the products they use. Your homemade toothpaste will be free of chemicals or harmful materials and ready to use!
What You Need:
- Toothbrush
- ¼ cup baking soda
- ¼ cup baking soda
- Water
- 1 TBSP salt
- Peppermint oil
- Water
- Tube of toothpaste
- Jar and lid
What You Do:
- Combine the baking soda and salt in a bowl.
- Pour a small amount of peppermint oil into the bowl.
- Pour a small amount of peppermint oil into the bowl.
- Place a small amount of the paste onto your toothbrush and try brushing your teeth with it.
- Slowly add water to the mixture while stirring. Stop adding water once the mixture thickens.
