Week 10

Long O Spelling Patterns
Long O Spelling Patterns
Ask your child's teacher for the spelling focus each week, and encourage your child to notice words that follow those spelling patterns in your everyday life.
The goal in word study is to build students' understanding of spelling patterns and their ability to use them in their own writing. Have students highlight words in their own writing that follow the week's spelling pattern during writer's workshop. Students can also snap their fingers each time they hear a word that follows the spelling pattern.
