Diphthong: Oo

Focus on the vowel team "oo" this week, as found in words such as pool and book. Point out the different vowel sounds found in words as you are reading at home with your child.
Continue to study vowel sounds by inviting students to think about words that have a double O vowel team. Record different words on sticky notes. Then have students come up and sort the words according to the sound that the "oo" makes (e.g. pool and tool vs. took and book).
