Long Vowels and Silent E

Long Vowels and Silent E

Teach your child to magically transform words. Show them how to change words with short vowel sounds to words with long vowels sounds by adding a silent E. For example, magically change the word "kit" to the word "kite"!
Your class may have mastered long vowels, but it is still important to review them! Instruct students to write a short vowel word on their personal whiteboards, then teach them to add an E to transform it into a long vowel word.
