Plural "Y" Endings
Plural "Y" Endings
Words that end with the letter Y sometimes change when they are made plural. Review words with special spellings with your child.
Create two class charts that show the spelling pattern when changing a noun from singular to plural form. One chart can be for words ending with consonant+Y; the other for words ending with vowel+Y. Add to the chart as you come across words throughout the day, such as when reading together as a class.

Brainstorm a shared topic of interest that will engage your students. For example, students could write persuasive letters to their families about a book that they would like to have at home.
