Building Vocabulary
Building Vocabulary
Prepare for the more complex rigors of fifth grade vocabulary by spending some time reviewing challenging fourth grade words. Incorporate movement into this review when possible by asking your child to create a dance move to go with a particular word. Children are more likely to remember the meaning of a word if it they have designed their own unique kinesthetic movement to accompany it. Or, challenge your child to create a crossword puzzle with tricky vocabulary words.
