Review shape names with your third grader in this Tic-Tac-Toe game! It is important for your student to be familiar with a variety of different polygons, in order to progress through concepts such as perimeter and area. Have fun while practicing vocabulary in this competitive activity. Race to claim the most points by giving correct answers and forming lines of three in a row!

Terms to Know:

polygon: a closed-plane figure with sides (A circle is not a polygon, because it is formed from a curved line, not sides.)

trapezoid: a four-sided shape with two parallel sides

parallelogram: a four-sided shape in which both sets of opposite sides are parallel to one another

pentagon: a five-sided shape

hexagon: a six-sided shape

octagon: an eight-sided shape
