Paint with Tissue Paper

5.0 based on 1 rating

What You Need:

  • Strips of colored tissue paper (2" x 5")
  • Large white construction paper
  • Water
  • 3 brushes of various sizes
  • Paper towels for clean up

What You Do:

  1. Place the sheet of construction paper on the table.
  2. Ask your child to lay strips of tissue paper onto white construction paper in any design that is to her liking. Encourage her to choose a particular color combination ahead of time, or just go with her gut and make it up as she goes along.
  3. When all the tissue paper has been placed in its desired position, invite your child to wet the brush and gently sweep it over the colored tissue.
  4. Now for the fun part! After all the tissue paper has been brushed, your child can carefully remove it from the construction paper. She will be surprised to see the colors remain on the paper.
  5. Let the project dry. The design is complete!
