Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch painter who is known for using vivid colors in his work, most notably, his famous sunflowers. Help your child create her own beautiful still-life masterpiece based on Van Gogh's sunflowers. This activity will help teach her how to cut, glue and add texture to her work of art while helping to build comparison concepts such as bigger and smaller, taller and shorter.

What You Need:

  • 1 sheet of red or blue construction paper (11” x 17”)
  • 2 sheets of yellow construction paper for the vase
  • Green construction paper for stems
  • Tissue paper in various colors for petals
  • 1 sheet of black, brown (or any other color you like!) construction paper for the table
  • Small beans, glitter, rice, beads and/or sequins
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • White Chalk
