Make Spelling Spy-tastic!

(not rated)
by Kathy Meindl

The weekly spelling list.  For most kids, it starts in first grade and keeps going through years ahead.  Important?  Yes.  Boring?  Well, for lots of kids…afraid so.  But if your child’s enthusiasm starts flagging, take heart.  With a pen and some index cards, you can can create a “spy code” that allows your child to practice while also imagining himself in a happy world of mystery and intrigue. We use this Super Spy Spelling Game in my first grade class; don't be surprised if you try it one week, only to have your child beg for it every week after.
