The Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education (MIJE) prides itself on nurturing news media leaders who operate effectively in both multicultural and multimedia environments. The non-profit institute is the nation's oldest organization dedicated to training media professionals of color and to helping the news media reflect the nation's diversity in staffing, content and business operations. While the Maynard Institute emphasizes participation by people of color, all Maynard programs are open to media professionals of all races.
