National Center for Learning Disabilities
About Us
The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) works to ensure that the nation's 15 million children, adolescents and adults with learning disabilities have every opportunity to succeed in school, work and life.
NCLD provides essential information to parents, professionals and individuals with learning disabilities, promotes research and programs to foster effective learning and advocates for policies to protect and strengthen educational rights and opportunities.
Other NCLD programs:
Get Ready to Read!, is a national initiative that seeks to build the early literacy skills of preschool-age children by providing parents, educators, health-care professional, and advocates with literacy screening and learning activities as part of early childhood education, child-care, and parenting practices. http://www.getreadytoread.org/
The RTI Action Network is dedicated to the effective implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) in school districts nationwide so that each child has access to quality instruction and that struggling students – including those with learning disabilities – are identified early and receive the necessary supports to be successful. http://www.rtinetwork.org/
