Q:

please help with my 2 year old

I am going through some hard times with my son. He has always been a good eater but now he won’t eat and can be at meals for 5 hours just to get him to eat. He throws temper tantrums and just screams at me when I talk to him he also bites hits and kicks me if given a row for climbing playing with windows or switches. I’ve tried putting him on time out he just kicks out and if I don't react he starts nipping his face and peeling the skin around his fingers. His new one when getting told he should not be doing something is grabbing his eyes and wind pipe, he holds on until his face turns red then lets go. He has marks under his eyes with nipping and pulling at them. I am a single mother and his father doesn’t have much to do with him. I have said to his health visitor but they just keep telling me it’s his age but when his father does see him and he has these marks he blames me for this. I am really at my whit’s end and don't know what else to do to stop him or get him to eat. Can someone please advise me? PLEASE HELP.

I agree with your health visitor about him acting out his age. But I am concerned about nipping and peeling of his face. Please get help quickly on this. Best of luck.

They call this the terrible two's stage. Eating is not a problem if he has at least one good meal. However, don't let the mealtimes become a fighting match as this is going to make him more resistant. What helps is to have him watch TV when he eats. Put fruit and healthy snacks where he can find them. He will eat when he is hungry. Make meal times fun times.

my concern is the nipping and peeling of the skin.  have this seen to as soon as possible.

good luck.
