To identify six products that are imported from other countries into the United States, you and your child could take a trip to the grocery store or department store. Look for "Made in China" or "Made in Indonesia" or "Made in Mexico" labels on the products at the store, and have your child list six of those items. At the grocery store, I bet you could find several different kinds of produce that are imported. You could also include on the list at least one type of vehicle in the store parking lot that is imported into the United States from Japan or Korea or Germany.  

To identify six products that are exported from the United States to other countries, you could start by reviewing this U.S. Department of Commerce Export Fact Sheet:

Then do some additional research within each export product category to find specific brand names (if needed for the project). If general product categories are within the parameters of the assignment, this fact sheet provides what you need.
