My 5 year old son keeps hitting his friend and is disrespectful to people, how can I fix this?
I am a stay at home mom, my husband is gone months at a time for work so it is just my son and I. I currently stay home with my son and watch two other little boys during the day as well. My problem is that my son has been hitting the other 5 year old that comes to our house during the day. This has been going on for a month now. He will punch him in the stomach or in the arm. I can tell this is due to frustration as the other little boy is not at the same level as my son. The hitting at first went both ways and if I let it escalate would turn into something much more. My son is not always the first to hit, the other little boy will bite, pull hair and pinch as well. When I ask my son why he hit he tells me that it is "Just too hard for him". I do understand the recent change of bringing these children in may have rocked the boat a bit but now it just does not seem he is being sincere when he says this. He also does not act sorry when he does these things, he does not like to say sorry and will often times act like it is no big deal. I have tried taking away toys, time aways, no movie night, stayed home form events and none of this is working. During the day I also make sure I reinforce good behavior by telling them how they are being great friends and things like that. So needless to say I am not sure what to do anymore, I am losing my cool. My home needs to be a safe positive environment for my son and these two precious little boys that come here, what should I do.

Talk is cheap and it does not solve problems. Start a campaign where it is not cool to be cruel. Make it easy for kids to reach out and find that safe space every child is entitled to have. As a parent, teacher or adult role model you are responsible for every childâs well being. No excuses!

my husband was in the army for 4 years and I stayed home with are girls they would be fine as long as they had mommy all to there self but anytime we would have a play date with other children it was like day and night fight over everything tell on any and everything they could without daddy around you are all he has and when someone else takes his attention he will act out there is a balance you have find because now he gets all your attention when he acts out negative attention is better then not have a little make up games arts and crafts and only give him attention when he does whats right and you will learn your own balance and he will see mommy will only show me positive attention
