The 50th parallel north is the circle of the latitude that is 50 degrees north of the Earth's equatorial plane. It will go over Europe, Asia, the Pacific Ocean, North America, and then the Atlantic Ocean. At this point of latitude the sun is able to be seen for 16 long hours and 22 minutes during the summer solstice and during the winter solstice it’s only seen 8 hours and 4 minutes.
