I had originally thought that your son could compare pollen levels for each month of the year with visits visits to the doctor for allergy-related symptoms. The pollen data can probably be found here: http://topics.info.com/Pollen-Count_1767. I can't think of where the data on doctor's visits would be publicly available, however. Perhaps, you son could have people take a survey and rate their allergy symptoms over the course of the last calendar year. Your son could then analyze the results om comparison to the pollen count in your area over the last year. Is there a relationship? Similarities in rise and fall of pollen and allergy symptoms?

Good luck!
